Job Description LOCATION: Wendover and surrounding area
JOB TITLE: Bricklayer / General Builder
SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP35-40k - Negotiable dependent on skills and experience

WORKING HOURS: 8am - 4pm Mon - Fri
THE COMPANY: Our client is a member of the Federation of Master Builders, The Guild of Master Craftsmen & Safecontractor. They have been established for 15 years and are well known in the area as a General Building Contractor responsible for high quality private work including extensions, alterations and groundworks.
In recent years they have expanded to also become an Accredited Contractor for a local high profile Estate Agent with responsibility for undertaking full property refurbishments and managing a portfolio of properties with general maintenance requirements and are now on the lookout for an experienced Bricklayer / General Builder. Our client can offer the right candidate a permanent, full time position within a stable, friendly and experienced working team.
THE ROLE: Due to continued expansion and new work in the Wendover and surrounding areas, they are now looking for an additional experienced and skilled construction worker to join their team. They are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and skilled worker with Bricklaying or General Building qualifications. An ability to be flexible and carry out a range of tasks involved in general building is essential.
This role will include heavy manual labour so you must consider yourself physically fit due to the manual working aspect of the role. You must be able to work as part of a team to complete projects on time.
Key Responsibilities to include:-
• Working on a variety of projects such as construction of extensions, internal alterations, property refurbishments, loft conversions and smaller projects.
• Undertaking a variety of tasks involved in general building including groundworks/drainage, preparation of oversites, bricklaying, assisting with steelwork installation, screeding of smaller projects, drylining, laying patios, fencing.
• A good working knowledge of current Health & Safety requirements on building sites and an ability to adhere to site Health & Safety procedures is essential.
THE CANDIDATE: To be considered for the Bricklayer / General Builder role you must have significant experience (5 years +) of working within the construction industry. You will demonstrate commitment and consistently complete high standards of work, working well as part of a team and also independently on your own initiative if required.
Key experience essential for the role of Bricklayer / General Builder position based in Wendover and surrounding areas:
• Must live within a commutable distance of Wendover, Buckinghamshire
• Construction related Qualifications, specific skills and 5 years' experience or more in the construction industry
• A good working practical knowledge of current Health & Safety requirements on building sites and an ability to adhere to site Health & Safety procedures
• Full UK Driving licence and own transport is essential
