Imports Co-Ordinator required for growing VC backed Multi Channel Retailer.
Overview:
Reporting into the Head of Merchandising, this role is accountable for working directly with freight forwarding partners and international suppliers. You will be planning, booking and overseeing the import of goods through to my clients UK Distribution Centre. As part of the role you will be managing schedules, processing shipping documentation, reconciling invoices and overseeing procedures across numerous sea freight bookings to ensure that the requirements of Accounts, Buying & Merchandising and Warehouse teams are met.
The role requires the ability to manage data effectively with excellent accuracy and numeracy. You must possess strong organisational skills, have a keen eye for detail, and be able to work accurately and efficiently under pressure. Computer literacy, the ability to multi-task and the capabilities to work both autonomously and as part of a team are vital skills required for this fast-paced and challenging role.
Requirements
To be considered for this role you will need to have experience of working in Logistics and with freight forwarders and 3PL partners, with an excellent understanding of all relevant import documentation, rules and regulations.
Candidates must possess resilience together with dynamic problem-solving skills and the powers of persuasion required to make sure product is delivered on schedule and in budget. You will have a determined, methodical and self-motivated outlook to ensure the smooth and efficient administration of our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations and other factors that could affect the movement of Sea freight.
• Ensure the business is compliant with regulations relevant to Logistics.
• Develop excellent working relationships with our 3PLs, internal stakeholders and Supplier base.
• Liaise with overseas agents/partners by verbal and written communication.
• Booking of Import FCL & LCL Cargo either independently with the shipping lines or within our own Forwarding agreements.
