Job Description LOCATION: Portsmouth
JOB TITLE: Development Assistant (Temporary)
SALARY & BENEFITS: Pro-rata salary and leave allowance based on annual FTE of GBP20,814 and 25 days.
WORKING HOURS: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, 9am to 5pm Monday - Friday
Temporary post for up to six months in the first instance, to support cover for a period of maternity
leave within the team. The contract may be extended up to a full year.

THE COMPANY: We are currently working with a leading co-educational school located in the historic heart of Portsmouth.

THE ROLE: As Development Assistant, you responsibility is to update the school's fundraising
database, and provide administrative support.

Key duties for the role of Development Assistant :-

Ensuring records for alumni, donors, parents, staff and other supporters are maintained accurately and efficiently and that data remain consistent across the database
Logging all alumni interactions, including general correspondence, event attendance and donations
Enriching the data set by identifying and recording information about higher education, careers and relationships between constituents
Supporting the Alumni Relations and Events Manager
Routinely providing regular financial and analytical reports and preparing correspondence
Liaising with the school's Bursary, in the monitoring of direct debits and standing orders and the reconciliation of gift records

THE CANDIDATE: The successful Development Assistant will need to have excellent interpersonal skills and good verbal and written communication skills. You will have the ability to work well within a small team and be able to interact well with people at all levels. You will excellent attention to detail and be able to work without day to day instruction. You must live within a commutable distance to Portsmouth.

Key experience essential for the role of Development Assistant :-

Full familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher)
A flexible approach regarding working pattern is essential to be able to support occasional
evening/weekend events
A willingness to undertake training in the CRM database, The Raiser's Edge
