Business Development Manager

We are looking for a highly motivated sales professional, with a proven track record in sales and marketing activities within the automotive or related industries, as well as an awareness of the Key Players (OEM and first Tier) in the global automotive market.

Prodrive Advanced Technologies is a performance engineering consultancy which delivers varied technical projects to different customers across a range of sectors, including; automotive, aerospace, military, research and development and marine sectors. We accelerate understanding and take on challenges others shy away from.

Your challenge as Business Development Manager will be to identify and acquire new clients in the Automotive, Rail, Aerospace and Defence markets in line with business strategy, generating new leads and progressing bids through all stages of the sales process. This opportunity is a pivotal role within the company that is as equally challenging as it is rewarding, with a competitive package.

Business Development Manager Key Responsibilities:

* To develop and maintain existing accounts
* To acquire new clients in line with business strategy
* Generate leads and act as the internal co-ordinator to progress the bid through all the stages of the sales process
* Ensure bids meet the required profit margin and cash flow requirements and obtain the necessary sign off where required
* To deliver to agreed budget in terms of revenue and contribution
* To grow and develop new business with both existing customers and by increasing the potential client base
* To undertake negotiations with prospective clients covering financial objectives and technical requirements with the help of the Prodrive Engineers
* To work collaboratively with Prodrive's other business divisions to exploit joint opportunities
* To initiate and manage the preparation of proposals with AT project management and contracts in response to client enquiries, ensuring relevant inputs are robust, valid and accurate
* To prepare annual budget forecasts for nominated customers, identifying nature of projects and projected income
* To identify and make recommendations for the improvement of the efficiency of the department as a whole
* Provide support at shows and exhibitions as defined by the marketing strategy

Ideal Business Development Manager Candidate:

We are looking for a driven, self-motivated and proactive individual with the following attributes:

Ability to network and ideally have existing relationships within the automotive sector.

Well-practiced in winning proposals through direct sales and in response to tenders

Understanding of the key business drivers in the relative industry

Ideally, you will have exposure to the automotive industry in a sales/business development role or services delivery capacity.

Ability to understand and explain big data and analytics to a non-expert audience
* Commercially astute, ideally an Engineering graduate or other Science / Engineering discipline
* Computer literacy in all Microsoft applications
* Ability to travel worldwide on business in-line with business needs
* Self-starter, proactive and polished presenter
