Overview:
Citadel is focused on acquiring, cleaning, analyzing, large unstructured data sets to generate new insights. Given the vast amount of data being produced, Citadel is implementing new research methodologies, machine learning, natural language processing, scientific data visualization, and distributed computing to identify significant trends. The Alternative Data and Sector Analytics group within global equities is committed to generating sustained alpha using fundamental insights captured in a scientific approach.
Responsibilities Include:
• Coordinate with investment teams to understand their research process, and how data can support their research processes
• Take reverse inquiries from investment teams and understand the key data drivers
• Analyze data from multiple sources to answer complex investment theses
• Quickly digest data, recognize inflection points, and determine data relevancy
• Deliver high quality research to investment teams in a clear and digestible manner
• Work with existing and new data sets to push significant ideas and inflection points to investment teams
Required Skills/Experience:
• Relevant experience in investment banking, sell side research, data research driven management consulting, or related experience
• Advanced knowledge of R or Python and SQL and Excel
• Strong background in statistical methodology
• Experience working with large, unstructured data sets
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Industry generalist or background in Consumer, Energy, Financials, Healthcare, Industrials, Media, Technology or Telecom
• Ability to identify and present obscure data that is unique and useful
• Is able to build strong company relationships and build out network with peers and sell side analysts
• Ability to read research and market information, outline points, and present in a clear and concise manner
• Minimum of a bachelors degree in economics, finance, engineering, computer science or relevant degree from a top-tier university. Advanced degree is preferred
