About us

At Bath Spa University we work with one clear vision: to be a leading university in creativity, culture and enterprise. And as the fifth largest employer in Bath and North East Somerset, we’re really bringing our local talent out on a global scale. And with ever growing student numbers, it’s important for an expansion in our infrastructure and cherished buildings and landscapes. Transforming the lives of our socially engaged global students starts with making sure that our people, people like you, are engaged, empowered and feel valued for the hard work they do. And that’s where you come in.

Bath Spa University Campuses, Newton Park, Sion Hill, Corsham Court and Locksbrook Road (currently under construction & due to open September 2019) are steeped in history both modern and old.  Newton Park is undoubtedly the jewel in our crown with beautiful period buildings set in breath-taking Capability Brown landscapes,  you’d be hard-pressed to find a more inspiring backdrop to work in.

The Estates andServices Department is the operational engine room of the University, ensuring it functions smoothly and effectively on a day to day basis. The Estate side of the operation manages all maintenance, refurbishment projects, major capital projects and acquisitions together with the care and maintenance of our stunning grounds.  Our Facilities and Services provide support for the University such as cleaning, porterage, parking, central services and transport and finally not forgetting our Sustainability Team who keep us green and clean.  The Estates and Services Department is made up of multifaceted teams all working as one Department to support the smooth running of the University.  Your role in this very busy but happy team will be to provide strong admin support to the various Estates and Services sections.

About the role

You will join a large team of people who are committed to providing the very best service to the larger University community.  This is a varied but interesting administrative role covering all aspects of Estate Management from the changing of a lightbulb to the acquisition of new building stock.

You will also be required to provide high quality administrative support to enable the Estates and Services Department to function effectively and efficiently.

As we are a multi-site University there could be an occasion where you may be required to attend one of our other sites.

About you (requirements)

You will take pride in your work and surroundings and be prepared to encourage and engage others to do so.  This is a busy sometimes demanding role which interacts with multiple services so you will need to have the ability to  adapt to the varying demands on a daily basis and take the initiative.  Ideally you will be flexible, with a strong problem solving approach with the ability to respond positively and quickly where needed.

You will be a confident and excellent communicator and be able to engage with people on all levels.

If you’re confident and polite with people and have the ability to work on your own or as part of part of a team, this job could suit you well.
