With over 20 years’ experience, our client is the nation’s largest one-stop shop for the jewellery maker. They offer over 18,000 products, including silver, gold, palladium and platinum bullion, cut to their customers’ requirements.
They are now looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their large, traditional manufacturing site, based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

What will I be doing?
As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing process through a range of projects focusing on the installation, maintenance and repair of machinery on site.
Specifically, you will:
- Carry out repair and maintenance for machinery such as casting machines, draw benches, roll mills and similar metal forming equipment
- Maintain process equipment and install new plant and machinery
- Respond to equipment faults and diagnose breakdown problems
- Carry out scheduled site maintenance and planned preventative maintenance tasks
- Assist with the design of maintenance strategies, procedures and methods
- Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and ad hoc repairs
What do I need?
To be considered as a Maintenance Technician, you will need:
- Previous experience as a fitter with a proven knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, breakdowns and maintenance, ideally gained within a manufacturing environment
- A degree level qualification or equivalent in maintenance – mechanical or electrical (City and Guilds, NVQ or equivalent)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise and schedule work to meet demands set by the department or company
- Effective team working skills with flexibility on additional hours / cover

This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Thursday, 7:15 – 15:45 and Friday, 7:15 – 12:45.
