Central Veterinary Officer (Up to 13 Month Maternity Contract)

Cats Protection is the organisation dedicated to helping, rescuing, re-homing and supporting cats. With 34 adoption centres and 250 volunteer-run branches, we help around 190,000 cats and kittens each year.
We are looking for a qualified veterinary surgeon with at least five years’ experience in small animal practice and charity or shelter medicine experience. Reporting to the Head of Clinical services, the role is based at the National Cat Centre at the edge of the Ashdown Forest in Sussex. This office-based post supports and manages the efficient administration of the central veterinary function within Cats Protection and includes providing veterinary, welfare and behavioural advice to internal and external audiences, line management and process management.
The successful candidate will be pro-active, self-motivated with excellent communication skills, have a special interest in feline medicine and welfare and be able to work at a senior level within the charity.
