Cost Engineer- Manufacturing background

Huxley engineering are recruiting for one of their key clients in the Chippenham area. The company specialise in the design and manufacture of specialist electro-mechanical products within a highly regulated industry. Our client is looking for a Cost Engineer to support both their purchasing & manufacturing functions.

Below are the key responsibilities and requirements in order to qualify for interview.

Professional Experience and/or Qualifications:

• Worked in a manufacturing environment

• Experience of cost modelling of sub-assemblies or components

• Engaged with suppliers

• Lead continuous improvement projects

• Been involved in successful cost negotiations

Key Responsibilities:

• Create cost transparency for purchased parts

• Cost analysis - developing a system/database

• Optimize costs by choosing the best technology & suppliers

• Support the purchasing team in negotiation with technical expertise

• Lead continuous improvement projects

• Visit suppliers & suggest improvements to their processes

* This role will involve overseas travel*.
