Transforming Care Services are working in partnership with one of our clients to recruit a permanent cook to work in a small mental health service in Stoke on Trent. They are looking for someone passionate, enthusiastic and someone who is good at liaising with people at all levels.
The role is a permanent position, 37.5 hours per week over 5 days. 9.30-5pm and 5 days out of 7, working alternative weekends.
The role will consist of:
Preparing home made lunch and evening meals with fresh vegetables and ingredients on a daily basis. You will also ensure breakfast and suppers are to a high standard too.
You will makes cakes, pastries and desserts/sweets.
You must be able to provide lovely meals for people who have special dietary requirements or soft food and be able to plan and design menus.
You will be responsible for ordering all the food, controlling stock an ensuring the kitchen is kept clean at all times.
The service supports 14 adults with mental health needs so your ability to communicate with vulnerable people is very important and ideally you will of worked in a similar role previously - hospital, care home, support service. You MUST have your up to date food hygiene certificate and be able to work every other weekend.
