Vitality Invest are looking for an experienced CIO to oversee the use of Information Technology in the company and be responsible for ensuring that its information technology investments are aligned with its strategic business objectives. You will devise the company’s IT strategy and ensure that all systems necessary to support its operations and objectives are in place. To accomplish this, you must be a positive leader, an effective communicator, a persuasive negotiator, and a customer-orientated individual.

Responsibilities as our Chief Information Officer – Pensions & Investments include:

- Set strategy and objectives for the Technology department

- Select and implement suitable technologies to streamline all internal operations and help achieve their strategic goals

- Oversee the design and customisation of technology systems and platforms to improve customer experience

- Plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to IT professionals and other staff within the organisation

- Establish solid working relationships with 3rd Party software providers and internal Group IT functions

- Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organisation to ensure optimal performance whilst directing and organising IT-related projects

- Monitor changes or advancements in technology to enable the company to gain competitive advantage

- Analyse the costs, value and risks of information technology to support management decision making

- Be responsible for commercial management of all technology contracts/suppliers

- Work in a consultative fashion with other department heads, such as marketing, production and operations as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness

- Provide leadership to department heads in a fashion that supports the company’s culture, mission and values

- Conducts research and case studies on leading edge technologies and makes determinations on the probability of implementation.

- Acts as a good steward of Vitality Invest’s resources and ensures control of IT departmental budgets

To become our Chief Information Officer – Pensions & Investments, you will have the below skills and experience:

Essential

- Proven experience as CIO

- Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure with a background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation

- Ability to deal with 3rd Parties (any UK Fund Platform provider exposure would be ideal)

- Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations

- Ability to interact at Exco, Group Audit and Risk level

- Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities

- Ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff, and to think and act strategically and proactively

- Excellent writing, presentation, organisational and leadership skills

- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

- Experience in the UK Fund Platform environment is a major plus (Desirable)
