Product & Sales Copywriter & Administrator

This company is one of the UK's leading gift import and distribution companies. Their retail customers range from independent gift shops to national chains. The range is divided into 23 key brands across 7 product categories including clocks, home accessories, every day and occasion specific gifts, and photo frames.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Marketing Department for a Product and Sales Copywriter. The successful candidate will possess a natural talent for producing creative copy and will build upon their academic achievements or previous copywriting experience. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter, with the ability to organise their workload and prioritise as appropriate.

Role & Responsibilities:

As the Product and Sales Copywriter and Administrator you will have the following responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating, completing and maintaining all content required to make their product offering ready for their new B2B ecommerce platform.
- Responsible for creating new product titles and descriptions for their entire product range.
- Responsible for ensuring copy is in line with the brands' tone of voice across all touch points.
- Responsible for liaising with the Quality Assurance Manager and Imports Department to ensure any relevant QC Labels and Warnings, specifications, attributes and requirements are completed
- Responsible for creating and maintaining the keywords associated with every product, and the substitute product list associated with each product in their range.
- Work with the eCommerce Executive to ensure that all product content is both SEO friendly and engaging.
- Responsible for ensuring that the content and product copy is completed in a timely manner in line with deadlines.
- Creation of compelling sales copy for on and off-line marketing campaigns
- Production of sales copy to support their presence in the gift trade press to include news items, new licenses and brands and the launch of new collections
- Creation of copy for company monthly newsletter

Candidate Requirements

Preferable Experience:

- Knowledge of SEO, content marketing, and related writing techniques.
- Experience in writing product copy within brand guidelines and in a specific tone of voice.
- Experience in writing compelling content for social media platforms.
- Experience in managing and creating product content
- Experience in working to deadlines.

Knowledge & Skills:

- Ability to write appropriate content for the gift industry.
- Excellent editing, spelling & grammar skills.
- English, Marketing, Ecommerce or related training.
- Strong copywriting skills gained in a digital environment; ideally for eCommerce sites and social media.
- Good understanding of SEO guidelines and best practices
- Good attention to detail to capture inaccuracies and inconsistencies
- Able to work to deadlines and under pressure without compromising on quality
- Comfortable working on multiple work strands at the same time
