Oldrids & Downtown are one of the only family-owned chains of department stores within the UK and have a heritage spanning over 200 years.  We have recently announced ambitious plans to develop a £125 million Designer Outlet Centre at our Downtown site in Grantham.

We are seeking an experienced Visitor & Events Manager to devise, plan and deliver fabulous events across our five stores in Grantham, Boston and Scunthorpe and within our future Designer Outlet Centre.

Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing, we’re looking for an individual who can deliver game-changing increases in brand awareness, footfall, dwell-time and average spend across our estate.

You will do this by developing and executing a full calendar of activities and in-store events to bring theatre and atmosphere to our stores, enhancing the customer experience.  In addition, you will work with business partners and local authorities to maximise opportunities for tourism-related visits to our flagship Grantham site, as well as to Grantham town centre and the surrounding area.

This is a unique role with true autonomy to really make a difference.  Flexibility and an inclusive management style are vital, as is the flair to create something special for our customers whilst working within our branding guidelines and wider business strategy.

To succeed in this important role:

•    You will need previous experience of owning and driving retail or tourism-based events, ideally gained whilst working for a multi-site retailer or tourist destination.

•    You will be a confident and enthusiastic networker, with the ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders.

•    Your outgoing personality, influencing skills, tenacity and passion will enable you to engender the support you need from third parties and colleagues across the business to deliver excellent results.

•    You must be comfortable working under your own steam and proactive in engaging with your colleagues from across the business to help you deliver the events as and when they occur.

•    You must possess a high level of personal resilience and be financially astute to operate and deliver within budgets, and report regularly on the success and performance of each event.

This fantastic opportunity to be an ambassador for our brand and help us deliver a transformation of historic significance to our business comes with a competitive salary and benefits package including:

•    Staff discount of up to 20% across all stores;

•    Pension contributions of up to 7% of salary; and

•    34 days’ holiday per year including Public Holidays, increasing with service.
