Our Client

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team in the charitable not for profit fundraising sector. This is a chance to be part of an enthusiastic team dedicated to growing their already very successful business.

The Role

To support the Head of Business Development and contribute to the strategic direction by helping to grow the business in line with specific targets and the annual operational plan.

Active involvement in the company's business development initiatives, ensuring long term relationships are built and maintained within both their contacts and other stakeholders

Main Duties:

  • Support the Business Development strategy
  • Support the new member recruitment process in line with targets
  • Maintain regular contact, briefing and responsibilities with all sales staff
  • Monitor sales reports and performance and recommend activity adjustments as required
  • Suggest strategies for market expansion
  • Develop relationships with new and existing markets, including retail, corporate and hospice contacts
  • Develop marketing opportunities in a variety of retail and business outlets as well as community events
  • Develop relationships with hospice partner fundraising team ensuring support engagement in line with the Partner Engagement Programme
  • Populate and maintain a fully functional attendance diary, liaising and coordinating visits with sales staff
  • Ensure full and detailed records are kept of all contacts
  • Promote positive PR around marketing activities
  • Customer engagement monitoring
  • Deliver set targets
  • Maintain good communications with all staff and volunteers
  • To carry out ad hoc duties as required by the Head of Business Development and the CEO

The Candidate

Essential:

  • Experience of building and maintaining relationships
  • Good understanding of delivering excellent customer service
  • Be confident in the generation and development of new business contacts
  • Ability to maintain relationships and generate new leads
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to work with people at all levels
  • Natural rapport builder, confident and charismatic
  • Flexible and adapt to the needs of the company
  • Be organised
  • IT literate

Desirable:

  • Charity knowledge or experience
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant field

Terms

The role is offered on a permanent, part-time basis for 25 hours across 4-5 days. Less days won't work I'm afraid. Salary is GBP16,750 pro-rata - actual of GBP11,160. Benefits to be discussed at interview. Friendly team and very family friendly.
