Support Workers! Are you Caring? Inspirational? Optimistic? Insightful? Look no further, I have the perfect opportunity for you!
Are you an experienced support worker looking for a new challenge or are you interested in starting your career within social care? We have some great opportunities for you in the Northallerton area at a Residential Home owned by a fantastic local care provider. They are looking for support workers to work alongside a highly skilled staff team to provide support to adults with complex learning disabilities and improve their quality of life.
The Organisation
Founded in 1980's by a husband & wife who established a Short Break service for people with disabilities. Since then the organisation has grown significantly and now offers a large range of supported living accommodation and residential care services, as well as specialist holiday accommodation.
They currently operate across the Yorkshire and Humber regions and employ over 1100 staff across more than 80 individual services.
The Role
Your main aim as a support worker is to treat all residents with respect and dignity. Some of the adults in the home have very complex learning disabilities, meaning this is a hands on care role that will require you to undertake personal care training. This company will provide 100% of your training, at no cost to you, that will provide you with a variety of key care skills that will kick-start your career in health-care. So, if you're looking for an organisation who'll help you to your first step in a new job and support you the rest of the way, look no further. Additionally, you will be expected on occasion to take the residents out of the home and into the community to do activities such a horse-riding and swimming, so candidates who enjoy these activities are encouraged to apply!
To Apply
Ideally some experience within care is desirable. You must fit the following criteria;
Be willing to work a variety of shifts, including earlies, lates and sleep in's when required.
Willing to undertake training and qualifications to develop your ability to care.
You must be happy to commit to a part time or full time contract.
Willing to perform personal care duties when required.
Please get in touch if you are happy with the above!
Salary & Benefits
The starting pay rate is £8 an hour with opportunities to earn more if you take on a position of leadership. The full list of employment benefits you will receive include:
- Complete training in a variety of areas (learning disabilities, epilepsy, mobility)
- Annual leave entitlement over the statuary average
- An employee support system to look after your well-being (includes face to face counselling)
