An exciting opportunity has arisen within WME Operations team for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

The Role

As part of the Operations team the Manufacturing Engineering Manager will work within a lean manufacturing production system and strongly focus on people, quality, velocity and cost.

Key responsibilities as our Manufacturing Engineering Manager:

Velocity:

- All Manufacturing Engineering activities within the local Business.

- To manage the deployment and effectiveness of all Technical and Manufacturing Engineering personnel.

- Ensuring that competent Manufacturing Engineers accurately convert the design intent into clear manufacturing instructions.   Including the management of all operational routings and standard work.

- Acting as a focal point for Manufacturing Engineering and Quality issues relating to the manufacture of product.

- Development and enhancement of the manufacturing process.

- Establishing capacity for all operational areas and working with the S&OP process to flex this capacity as required.

- The production of manufacturing NC programmes.

People:

- Ensure compliance with all health and safety, security, system access and data protection policies.

- Responsible for instilling a motivated, successful culture through effective leadership.

- Ensure that all employees in the area are managed in line with WME policies and that there are effective processes in place to deliver and monitor development opportunities through training and coaching.

- Develop direct reports through the use of 1-2-1 meetings, coaching, objective setting, targets, appraisals, and training and performance management.

Quality:

- Assures that the certification processes within the business are adequately defined, accurate, credible, robust and consistently applied.

- Ensuring engineering integrity of bills of material and configuration control.

- Support all continuous improvement activity.

- Management of Manufacturing Engineering data integrity audits, checks and cleansing.

Cost:

- Working with Operations to remove cost from the manufacturing processes in order to ensure margin maximization.

- Management of CAPEX budget for Operations team.

- Management of the delegated budget.

Our ideal Manufacturing Engineering Manager:

- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

- Significant previous experience in an engineering manufacturing environment.

- Proven track record of success

- Managing change in busy manufacturing facility

- Significant people & project management experience – able to get results through people

- Significant previous experience in an engineering manufacturing environment.
