COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
Salary Range: SCP 19-22 (£19,446 - £21,074) pro rata
Part-time: 20 hours per week
Penzance Town Council is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic person for the part-time post of Communications Officer. This is a new role aimed at promoting and marketing the many and varied aspects of the Town Council's activities within the Parish of Penzance.
This is an exciting and challenging time to join an expanding team of officers serving a Council that is committed to a programme of growth and reform as more facilities and responsibilities are devolved to the Town Council in line with Cornwall Council's county-wide programme of devolution.
The position requires an individual with strong customer service and inter-personal skills, a 'can do' attitude and a proven track record in website and social media management, marketing promotional material and preparing copy for publication and press release. Excellent communication (written and oral) and IT skills (MS Office suite of applications) are essential. The role also involves assisting with Reception duties and providing some administrative support, when required.
