Economic Regeneration Officer (2 Posts)

Post 1: Town Centre and Tourism

Post 2: Projects Salary: £23,866 to £33,136

With a new Chief Executive and Management Team in place, Melton Borough Council is facing the future with renewed vigour and confidence. Melton is a small but ambitious council that has always punched above its weight, and we are determined to further enhance the quality of life for everyone in the borough and create sustainable, prosperous and vibrant communities. Key to that is regeneration and place making. As a result of a recent restructure, we are now looking to appoint two new officers to help drive forward the work of the expanded Place and Regeneration Team and progress the Council's place shaping aspirations.

The Economic Regeneration Officer (Town Centre and Tourism) will play a lead role in establishing the Town and Place Strategic Partnership, facilitate the development of a town centre strategy and deliver projects that enhance the town centre and tourism in the Borough. Our new Economic Regeneration Officer (Projects) will develop, lead on and implement a range of key 'place shaping' and economic regeneration projects that maximise the economic growth and prosperity of the Melton Mowbray and the surrounding rural area. Melton has many amazing assets, with good transport links and a well deserved reputation as a rural 'capital of food', and we need to make the most of our potential and bring further growth and high quality jobs to the borough. Supporting the newly appointed Director and working with the LEP, local businesses and public sector partners, these posts require agile and flexible thinkers, with a background in town centre, regeneration or economic development, able to provide expert advice and guidance and lead on the development and implementation of significant regeneration projects and programmes that help put Melton firmly on the map as a great place to live, visit and do business.

Closing date: Wednesday 6 June 2018

The Council has adopted a policy of equal opportunities and is committed to staff development and training. As users of the disability confident scheme, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants to meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.
