Engineering Scheduler / Coordinator / Planner

Chesterfield (Commutable from Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley)

Fixed term contract for approx. 1 year (maternity cover)

Our client is a leading supplier of LPG for homes and businesses across the UK. Renowned for excellence in delivering value and a high quality service, they pride themselves on going above and beyond for their customers.

Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Scheduler to take responsibility for the scheduling and planning of installation and maintenance works. You’ll support the response to emergency call-outs and manage the call-out roster, minimising stand-by time and driving efficiency through the engineering function.

You’ll ensure that Engineers are competent to undertake activities by proactively checking their accreditation status and ‘Restricted Activities Log’ held under the GCS scheme and will generate the information required for the reconciliation of trip summaries with members of the business services function. You’ll support the implementation of technical measurement, recording and tracking equipment as well as engaging with approved contractors to complete work. You’ll also ensure SHEQ policies and procedures are followed at all times and identify any chargeable activities, minimising time spent on non-revenue generating activities and driving efficiency through the business.

We’re looking for someone who holds GCSE or equivalent qualifications in technical fields, who has strong computer literacy skills to use the computing tools available and who has an awareness of safety and lifting operations. A Time Management certification would be advantageous but not essential. With a strong customer focus, you’ll have good organisational skills, the ability to work under pressure and ideally you’ll have experience of risk assessment, documentation and control.
