Grounds Maintenance Operative / Gardener is needed to work as part of a high performing team involved with maintaining open spaces, gardens and play areas is required by Worthing Homes.
SALARY: GBP18,245 per annum + Benefits (21 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Christmas Shutdown, Private Medical Insurance (after qualifying period), Childcare Vouchers, 4% Employer Pension Contribution)

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Grounds Maintenance Operative / Gardener to join our high performing team that is involved with maintaining open spaces, gardens and play areas.
Working as the Grounds Maintenance Operative / Gardener you will be involved with grass cutting, hedge cutting, border maintenance, gritting and leaf clearance.
As the Grounds Maintenance Operative / Gardener you will be a team player with extensive experience of using general horticultural machinery and previous experience maintaining open spaces, gardens and play areas.

DUTIES
Your duties and responsibilities as the Grounds Maintenance Operative / Gardener:
• Under the direction of the Team Leader maintain all open spaces to include: Grass cutting, hedge cutting, border maintenance, gritting, leaf clearance, litter picking and clearance as required
• To undertake all duties within the Grounds Team in accordance with our work schedule and ensure all areas are left clean and tidy after work is completed
• Ensure all requests and enquiries from either the customer or other sections of Worthing Homes for grounds maintenance are processed quickly and efficiently
• To work in a tidy and safe manner at all times, complying with all relevant Health & Safety and Environmental practices and procedures. Safe manner at all times, complying with all relevant Health & Safety
• To operate all vehicles, machinery and equipment in a safe manner
• To keep up to date records as required
• Ensure the depot is clean, tidy and safe at all times.

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• A qualification in Horticulture (NVQ Level 2, City & Guilds or similar)
• A certificate in handling and dealing with chemicals
• Extensive experience of using general horticultural machinery
• Experience in the maintenance of open spaces, gardens and play areas
• Good plant knowledge, Strong team work skills, Experience of using IT skills to record data and access information
• Full driving licence
• Experience in the maintenance of open spaces, trees and play areas
