Data and Risk Analyst - Associate - Life Insurance and Financial Advice Sector Team (Supervision)

This is a great opportunity to work across a variety of industry sectors to assist with identifying and analysing information on key risks. Your work will play an important role in helping focus our supervision work on improving outcomes for consumers

The Role
Key responsibilities include:
  • Analysing data and other intelligence to form views about firms and wider industry issues to help focus supervisory work;
  • Assisting with the oversight and governance of risks across the sectors; and
  • Managing and influencing stakeholders internally and externally.

As a Regulatory Associate you'll help provide analytical support to our supervisors by identifying key risks that cause harm. That will mean using your technical knowledge alongside excellent stakeholder management and analytical and data skills to provide information that helps supervisors improve the way firms and markets work.

Minimum

  • Evidence of analysing information and making judgements;
  • Strong data analysis skills (advanced user of Excel); and
  • Strong written communication skills.


Please note that you do not have to have previous experience of the financial services industry or regulation to apply.

Essential

  • Experience of producing and delivering effective oral and written communications;
  • Ability to analyse and summarise information effectively;
  • Experience of liaising with stakeholders; and
  • A self-starter with experience of working on own initiative as well as in a team.


Desirable

  • Experience of using Tableau would be helpful (if not training will be provided).

The Life Insurance and Financial Advice Sector Team conducts research and analysis across the long term savings sector, including life insurers, SIPP operators, platforms, wealth managers, private banks and financial advisers to inform supervision work.

Useful Information:
  • This role is graded Associate REG B
  • The salary range will be approximately 30,000 to 45,000 plus a competitive benefits package and non-contributory pension

  • If you are shortlisted for interview there will be a case study to assess your data analysis skills followed by a competency based interview. These are expected to take place between 11 th June and 15 th June.
  • For those candidates who were successful in their case study and interview there might be a final second interview.
