SYSTEMS ENGINEER - GBP45K - HAMPSHIRE - PERMANENT
My client is a cutting-edge designer and manufacturer of technology for safety critical industry, due to continued strong growth they are looking to add a Permanent Systems Engineer to the team based in Southern Hampshire. The successful candidate will be required to develop and implement structured engineering solutions to meet programme requirements across the whole development lifecycle in accordance with customer requirements, legislation, human factors and business.
Job Responsibilities:
* Develop engineering solutions to meet the requirements of the project to agreed schedule, quality and cost requirements where necessary considering alternative implementations using trade analyses in order to determine preferred solution.
* Capture, define and manage requirements through a disciplined and rigorous approach to requirements management and ask challenging questions about the requirements and architecture of the system at each level of the hierarchy.
* Define strategies in order to comprehensively review and exercise designs to detect defects and evaluate features in both development and manufacture. Generate, perform, approve and validate results of verification plans, test plans, analyses, test case design and other specific kinds of tests including flight tests, system tests, development tests, unit tests, component tests, integration tests, regression tests, stress tests, acceptance tests and qualification tests as appropriate.
* Understand and implement the requirements for certification of safety critical products in partnership with the appropriate development assurance level requirements and processes.
* To provide technical leadership in areas of expertise, where required.
* Compile plans, estimates, task lists and risk management plans with estimated resource requirements (people and equipment) in support of programme objectives, project estimates and bids.
* Perform, track and control internal project activities and external sub-contract organisations maintaining focus on achieving goals with a positive can-do attitude.
Skills & Experience:
* Experience of unit level box design
* Experience of Avionics or extensive safety critical industry experience
* Interest in working in the aerospace industry and want to learn quickly
* Experience of working on unit level equipment rather than whole aircraft or whole system based work
* Experience of design life cycle work on a product
* Experience of capturing system requirements and of validating and verifying that the system that has been produced as a result meets the original specification
* Disciplined and rigorous approach to requirements management and ability to ask challenging questions about the requirements and architecture of the system at each level of the hierarchy.
* Experience of facilitating trade-offs between hardware and software implementations and deriving discipline specific requirements.
* Ability to create a range of alternative interdisciplinary design concepts, perform trade analyses to determine preferred solutions
* Ability to write integration and verification plans, define detailed test procedures and demonstrate effective management of systems verification activities
