Job description
Legal & General Investment Management (Holdings) Limited (LGIM) is seeking an Equity Research Analyst to join the Global Income team. The Active Equity team at LGIM manages £c7.5 billion on behalf of its clients and is organised into two strategy groups (Growth and Income/Value) and four regions (UK, Europe, Asia and Global).
This role is for an Investment Analyst position in the Global Income team to join Nigel Masding, Olivia Treharne and Simon Reid.
Key responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- managing two strategies based on fundamental bottom-up company research with long-term investment horizons:
- a Global Equity income strategy; and
- a multi-asset strategy that invests in global equities and fixed income securities, called Real Income Builder;
- following a disciplined process of idea generation, research and portfolio construction that is team based, relying on a clear investment framework of ‘Quality at an Attractive Valuation’ to guide its work and decision-making; and
- contributing to the other Active Equity strategies and regions.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
The successful candidate must possess the following qualification:
- an undergraduate degree;
- a strong track record of experience from within either buy-side or sell-side Equity Research, investment banking or strategy consulting;
- in-depth experience in forecasting, modelling and valuing companies using the DCF methodology;
- relevant equity research experience in conducting deep-dive analysis and research in a range of industries, sectors and companies, or equivalent similar experience;
- relevant significant experience in structuring research, analysis and evidence gathering that would be applicable to support an Equity Investment recommendation process;
- an investment philosophy that is aligned with the existing team and products;
- research-driven, focusing on identifying good quality companies at attractive valuations; and
- strong written and oral English communication skills.
The following qualifications, skills and experience are desirable:
- A Level Maths (or equivalent);
- MBA or Professional Qualification (eg CFA or Chartered Accountant); and
- an experienced user of Microsoft Office and Bloomberg.
