Overview of Role:
To effectively manage and develop the Logistics / Inventory / Materials team, value added processes / systems, stock handling / processing technologies, logistics related layout and equipment and suppliers, to achieve both effective and efficient stock control management and on time supply to and between internal manufacturing facilities / customers and external inter-site customers.

Main Tasks of Job:

Maintain on time/damage free, effective presentation of defined stock quantities supply, to point of use in each production cell/bay. Prevention of any stock outs through thorough investigation to root cause, then prevention action identification/implementation to all internal / external production cell stock outs;
To hands on manage and develop the logistics and stores functions, through equality of structured and agreed standards. Value stream mapping and development of all logistics/material control processes and procedures;
Efficient organisation and utilisation of staff, including compliance with health and safety standards, skills flexibility, and commercial achievement of product quality, delivery and cost performance requirements. Measuring, reporting and managing key performance indicators. Develop, audit and ensure systems and procedural compliance;
Maintain full understanding and compliance of the companies ISO 9001 / ISO14001 /ISO18001 standards, plus develop, maintain and audit effective logistics procedures and compliance. Develop detailed/structured training/appraisal documents for each main logistics activity/role;
Maintain accurate stock records and transactions in all operations of the company's manufacturing system, including accurate goods in, stock transfer and stock adjustment systems. Maintain and audit high stock accuracy standards, including investigation/prevention of any inaccuracies (SDIR analysis). Proactively assess and investigate root causes of stock loss/gains trends;

Qualifications & Experience:

Proven skills and experience of manufacturing/engineering material control and supply logistics, to work class standards;
FLT License
Full understanding, knowledge and experience of ERP/MRP systems;
Good PC skills: Excel, Word,
Conversant with Lean Manufacturing Methodologies and techniques.

Thorough, methodical, with good organisational skills and experienced within a manufacturing/assembly based environment.
Excellent man management skills, including the ability to act as a coach to the team and provide encouragement and support;
