Electronic Design/Development Engineer
Nottinghamshire
GBP25,000 - 45,000
My client is part of a GBP120 million business who specialise in the design, development and sales of products to the education market. The Nottinghamshire site employs 250 with annual sales of GBP60 million which is trebled in the past ten years.
The company sell an enormous range of products (over 20,000) and sell into 95 different countries globally making them the market leader in their field. The business has the intellectual property rights to over 3,000 products and are focussed heavily in the design of products with electronics within them. These can be audio products, floor robots, microphones or games controllers that are used in schools.
The group business is aiming to grow to GBP150 million in the next two years showing the huge ambition of the group. On top of this the Nottinghamshire site is a great facility and offers flexible working, an excellent pension and a great working culture.
The company currently outsource their electronics design to a supplier but are looking to build this function internally, as a result they are looking to recruit an Electronic Design/Development Engineer to come in and help them drive this forward.

The Role
As an Electronics Design/Development Engineer within the business you will be responsible for all the electronic design required for new products that are being developed. As an example, the company are looking to develop over 50 new electronic products in the next 12 months.
Day to day the role will involve:
* Specifying the electronic components required for a product - capacitors, resistors, surface mount equipment, wiring and supporting the Project Manager with sourcing suppliers for these components and potentially at supplier meetings.
* Carrying out PCB Design - the company are in the process of selecting the right Electronic CAD package and you could support in helping to choose the right package.
* Creating prototype circuits for new products and testing their functionality.
* Identifying added value and cost down opportunities during the electronic design and development process.
* Creating technical manuals for the systems for customers.
* Identifying issues with new products developed that don't pass their quality checks. The company currently have a room full of electronic test equipment and again you can inform the client what other test equipment will be required for purchase.
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Electronic Design/Development Engineers role you will need:
* A HNC or above in electronics or a related discipline.
* Experience in an electronic design or development related role.
* A passionate for product design and development.
* A great attitude and to be a team player.
The Benefits
* GBP25,000 - 45,000 dependent upon level of experience.
* Up to 7% contributory pension.
* Up to 5% annual bonus.
* 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday hours with half hour flexibility either way.
* 25 Days holiday plus bank holiday.
