The job of a Trainee Recruitment Consultant is simple; you find candidates for your client’s vacancies in this case within the Cloud IT sector. Your clients will include firms in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications space and will range from FTSE 250 listed firms to smaller niche start ups. You will spend a large part of the day on the phone, this will mean a lot of cold calling to win new Clients and also headhunt calls to find new Candidates.
You will earn a substantial commission on each placement you successfully make and as your network grows and you become more established within your sector your earnings will increase.
Salaries start at £12,000 - £14,000 with an achievable 1st year OTE of £30k+
Typical earnings are:
- Year 1 - £30,000 OTE
- Year 2 - £50,000 OTE
- Year 3 - £70,000 + OTE
For exceptional performers there are opportunities to progress as Team Leaders, Managers and equity directorships within 2 years.

Training & Development?
The first 2 weeks of joining this firm will involve shadowing senior consultants, carrying out client calls and learning how to lead search and select top clients. Over the next 3 months you will be trained in every aspect of business development, holding client meetings and structuring your working week to be an effective consultant.
