M J Quinn is an integrated service provider that delivers a range of mechanical, electrical, fire & building fabric maintenance services within the public transport sector. We are now looking for a Commercial Director to join our team, reporting into the Managing Director.

Fostering a fast-moving and team-oriented environment, we offer the chance to shape our Commercial team and play an integral role in the success of our business.

As the Commercial Director, you will oversee the Quantity Surveying Team and manage all commercial aspects of our engineering contracts and projects. 

Leading your team, you’ll develop their knowledge of commercial issues and motivate them to perform to the best of their abilities. 

You will monitor the performance of commercial activities, maintain a cost control system and support the set-up of projects, including reviewing contracts. 

Additionally, you will liaise with Senior Project Managers on tender preparations, manage departmental budgets and communicate payment requirements to customers. 

Your other duties will involve: 

- Building an understanding of the contractual requirements of project documents 
- Producing periodic reports on applications, payments and tenders 
- Managing, mitigating and resolving any cost disputes 

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need: 

- A strong background in MEF services 
- Experience of operations management and delivering projects 
- Previous rail experience 

Pragmatic and strategically-minded, as the Commercial Director, you will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. A highly organised approach and exceptional relationship-building abilities are also key.
