We have a great new job opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety / Quality Manager.
***Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years proven Health and Safety Management experience, ideally from within a Freight/Logistics environment.***
You will be responsible for the Health and Safety management across 2 sites in the UK - Essex and Northamptonshire. (So you will need to be able to drive)
Typical duties will include but not be limited to-
• Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety (Instruction for ISO 9001 procedure and certification)
• Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
• Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
• Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
• Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker's compensation claims
• Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
• Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
Candidates need to have -
• Proven experience as safety manager and deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
• Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
• Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
• Excellent organisational and motivational skills
• Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
• Not mandatory but preferable/BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred
• Valid qualification in occupational health and safety
The ideal candidate will be professional and confident, have a keen eye for detail, good communication skills, and management abilities, being able to multi task and cope in a busy work environment.
