LOCATION: Bexhill-On-Sea

JOB TITLE: Teaching Assistant/Trainee Teachers

SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP14,199 - GBP15,064 per annum pro rata

THE COMPANY: We are currently working with a sixth form college in the south-east of England. The college has had results above the national average for the past 23 years and consistently outperforming all other Post-16 educators in the area. They are now seeking a Teaching Assistant/Trainee Teachers to join the team.

THE ROLE: The position of trainee teacher is a dual role. Whilst being employed as a teaching assistant, the College will provide opportunities to gain a teaching qualification.
Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant/Trainee Teachers role to include:-
• Actively contributing to the planning and delivery of educational work programmes for individuals, groups and whole classes as appropriate
• Assess student work and contribution to reports if required
• Prepare appropriate teaching and learning resources for 1:1s, group work and lessons
• Actively assisting students with their programmes of study, working in collaboration with other staff, where applicable
• Develop subject knowledge and teaching skills
• Assist in the preparation of display materials and learning aids for students undertake simple repair and maintenance and clean and tidy up after use
• Support students with personal care needs as required including toileting and administering medicines
• Act as cover supervisors for classes in the absence of the teacher

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidates will be required to possess an enhanced DBS certificate to be employed at the College. Our client will welcome applications for all areas for consideration but are particularly interested in Science, Sport, English, Business and Health and Social Care.

Key experience essential for the role of the:- Teaching Assistant/Trainee Teachers
• Educated to at least Level 4 in a relevant area
• Knowledge of the post 16 curriculum
• Able to undertake training required for the DET programme*
• ICT literate
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Live within a commutable distance to Bexhill-On-Sea
