Our client is a new company. It is an extremely exciting time for the region, with ambitious plans for growth and regeneration underway and the City of Culture and Commonwealth Games taking place in 2021 and 2022. It is an inspiring time for our client as the Combined Authority delivers a £1.3 billion investment plan set to significantly expand the tram network, bringing even greater connectivity to people, places and business. As a result they are looking to recruit an experienced Material Controller to manage all purchasing and stores activity, taking responsibility for setting up electronic systems associated with stock rotation.
 
As Material Controller you will lead the development and maintenance of inventory control systems by tracking purchase orders, monitoring inventory levels and reviewing production and engineering requirements. You will be key in supporting the management team, driving the business, managing and expanding the organisations supply chain and building and maintaining relationships with 3rd party suppliers.
 
The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a similar role with proven experience of stores material stock control and procurement. You will educated to HND / NVQ Level 5-6 or equivalent and will be CIPS qualified or working towards the qualification.
 
They are welcoming applications from individuals with strong management, organisation and communications skills with proven experience of working in a stores or material environment. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills are also essential as you will be required to establish and develop relationships with 3rd party suppliers whilst also negotiating contracts. A Full UK Driving Licence and a FLT licence would be advantageous.
