Trainee Associate Property Lawyer - Conveyancing

Job Purpose

Under the supervision of a Legal Skills Trainer and the Training Academy Mentor, complete the Associate Property Lawyer Training Programme whilst building your own caseload in line with your training plan. Provide a comprehensive and quality Conveyancing service to your client and all parties to the Conveyancing transaction.

Key Result Areas

Following the completion of your training, to thoroughly understand the conveyancing process and, under supervision, be able to:

Issue registered and non registered sale contracts.

Draft replies to additional enquiries or requisitions.

Investigate freehold titles and raise the relevant additional enquiries or requisitions.

Check replies to enquiries

Interpret and advise on search results

Draft and negotiate contract clauses to suit particular circumstances.

Deal with clients, estate agents and other lawyers confidently on the telephone, give advice and negotiate solutions to problems.

Undertake exchanges of contracts.

Deal with all conditions in a mortgage offer.

Prepare completion statements.

Co-ordinate related sale and purchase transactions.

Post completion tasks including registration.

With supervision, manage and prioritise your own caseload of conveyancing transactions.

Understand and operate the companys procedures and policies to monitor workflow, avoid fraud and/or negligence and continually improve performance standards.

Understand, operate and maximise the potential of the companys conveyancing case management system throughout a conveyancing transaction.

Undertake any other task as reasonably requested by your Team Manager, Resolution Team or Senior Managers.

Communication and Working Relationships:

Internal - Liaise with other legal teams, team managers, client accounting and shared services.

External - Liaise with prospective and existing clients, estate agents, other solicitors and Conveyancers, mortgage lenders, brokers and other work providers
