The Lecturer in Uniformed Public Services Role
As our Lecturer in Uniformed Public Services, you will be working within a strong team of experienced colleagues who have the opportunity to shape and develop a young person’s future, meeting their career aims and aspirations whether that’s University, Further Education or into their chosen Public Sector employment.
Key Responsibilities of our Lecturer in Uniformed Public Services
- Teaching.
- Maintaining academic standards and motivation and being aware of curriculum developments.
- Producing schemes of work and lesson documentation
- Marking and assessment of learner work and participation in the quality processes of the department and college
- Maintaining acceptable standards of learner achievement, behaviour, discipline and punctuality.
- Involvement in student recruitment, interviewing, induction and counselling.
- Acting as a course tutor to appropriate student groups.
- Carrying out the necessary administrative tasks.
- Attending relevant meetings in pursuit of the co-ordination of college educational activities.
- Carry out additional roles within the college as may be agreed from time to time.
Our ideal Lecturer in Uniformed Public Services
To become our Lecturer in Uniformed Public Services, you should have a minimum level 4 qualification/Degree in Public Services or related subject, and/or extensive knowledge and skills working in a public sector service such as the Police, RAF, Army or Paramedics. Ideally you should have experience of teaching 16-19 year olds within a Further Education environment and preferably (although not necessary) hold a teaching qualification.
