Job Title: Chef Manager

Location: Uphill, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset

Salary: £26,000 £30,000 depending on experience

Job Type: Permanent, Full time or Part-time positions available

The Company provides specialist care for local people who are living with life-limiting illnesses. A much loved and well supported local charity, the hospice is based in Uphill, a quiet village on the outskirts of Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.

Everyone receives a warm welcome from the team who are devoted to helping those they care for to live as well and for as long as possible, tending to their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated professional to join their Catering team. You will manage the catering service for the hospice, including the main kitchen, their In-patient Unit kitchen, the day hospice catering needs, staff dining facilities and functions. You will lead the catering service and small team to provide high quality, nutritious and delicious fresh food to all patients, visitors and staff.

The Candidate:

You will have a minimum of 5 years experience of cooking, with a Diploma in Catering Management or equivalent, as well as City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ Level 3.

Ideally you will have worked within a healthcare environment and managed a team of catering staff.

You will need to have excellent communications skills, possessing a cheerful and positive character, able to engage with clinical staff and patients, as a key member of the extended clinical team. A "go the extra mile" mindset and the flexibility to adapt at short notice to changing patient needs are essential components of your outlook.

The Company accepts applications for either 32 hours, 35 hours or 37 hours per week (variations by discussion) - please clearly mark your preference on your application.

A degree of flexibility will be required to cover holidays and sickness.
