Finance Manager – A key role for a leading charitable community benefit society, focused on physical activity and guided by innovation, collaboration and insight, to create stronger and more resilient communities. THE ACTIVE WELLBEING SOCIETY (TAWS) is a new, independent social enterprise that works with some of the poorest communities in Birmingham and beyond, to improve people’s health and wellbeing through physical activity.

This exciting new permanent role is responsible for overseeing the processes directly relating to the financial health of the society. Responsible for producing financial reports and developing new approaches based on financial research, this post will work directly to the Financial Director and the senior management team.  Monitoring the daily financial operations and being responsible for reviewing the financial performance of the company, making recommendations where appropriate.  Minimising financial risk to the business, also preparing and presenting financial reports to various stakeholders.  Responsible for establishing and maintaining financial policies and procedures, overseeing the Payroll function and ensuring an effective invoicing system for the smooth running of the Society.

In order to be considered for this role, you will have an eye for detail and a developed understanding of business principles and the relevant legislative requirements.  You will demonstrate excellent mathematical, communication and leadership skills, and enjoy problem solving through research and analysis.  Your organisational skills will be second to none and you will be able to effectively multi task.

Importantly, you will need to have a genuine passion for improving the lives of others, ideally with previous experience in supporting disadvantaged communities or minority groups.
