We are looking to recruit a Metal Model Maker/ EDM Operator to work as part of an integrated D&M team responsible for programming, setting and operating EDM machines (wire and plunge) to produce wind tunnel model components to quality, time and budget in accordance with project manufacturing tolerances and schedules.
My client's intention is to develop a multi-skilled workforce, therefore you are likely to be asked to carry out other duties and/or responsibilities in addition to the duties directly relating to EDM machining. You will be given full training for such duties and we will not ask you to carry out such other duties for which you are not skilled or able.
It will be extremely desirable if you are competent in other disciplines to provide assistance within other areas of the MMC, particularly part hand working and assembly, but also turning, milling/jig bore and grinding, during periods of high demand to meet project schedules.
The ideal applicant will have a time served apprenticeship and/or demonstrable experience of EDM (wire and plunge).
Standard hours of work will be 38 hours per week, Monday-Friday but when business conditions dictate shift working will be required.
The successful candidate must satisfy security clearance requirements - including the last 5 years continual UK residency
