Hello Recruitment are pleased to be recruiting a Product Manager for a distribution business that specialises within the automotive sector.
As Product Manager you will be responsible for developing the product ranges which are assigned to the business through their product life cycle.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Recommending and developing product ranges through their product life cycle i.e. from introduction through to deletion within the framework of the company's margin, product brand and coverage strategies.
Working closely with other departments covering part number creation, brand selection, market pricing taking into account profit margin requirements, cross referencing, catalogue linking, assisting with product identification and dealing with queries.
Oversee, manage and develop my product ranges through the various stages of the product life cycle by identification and recommendation of for example:
• New item introduction
• Brand Selection
• Selling Prices
• Stocking Depth
• Range Coverage
• Item deletion
• Cost pricing on quotation file (in conjunction with the purchasing department).
• Competitor part numbers and pricing.
• Catalogue & OE linking.
Assist in maximising the gross margin by working in conjunction with the purchasing department to resolve any pricing issues and improve the company's overall purchasing terms whilst maintaining the quality brand / product level to meet the company's strategy.
Assist with the development and maintenance of the company's electronic catalogue.
Assist with enquiries from purchasing and sales departments to any product related issues including pricing, warranty, technical issues, identification, cross references etc.
Assist with the stock management and stock cleanse activity in conjunction with the purchasing department to meet the company's requirements.
Any additional duties that are deemed necessary to achieve the targets set by the company and may involve for example:
• Travel to customers, branches and trade fairs
• Training courses
• Supplier meetings
The ideal candidate will have good marketing and stock control exposure and preferably from an automotive background although this is not essential. You will be detailed and results oriented with a thorough knowledge of the business or commercial market and proficient in using computer applications and software. Strong negotiation skills will also be key in this role.
