Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Electrical maintenance engineer required for our client, a leading manufacturer based in the Portsmouth area. The successful candidate will be working on a mixed 12-hour shift pattern totalling to 36 hours a week. (6am-6pm or 6pm-6am)

The main objective for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be to ensure that the equipment and machines are operating at optimum efficiency responding to faults and breakdowns in a timely manner to limit downtime. The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will also perform planned preventative maintenance on the machines and equipment updating master records accordingly.

It is expected that the Electrical maintenance engineer will have a proven electrical background with machine or equipment experience including PLC control systems, (Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley etc.). The Electrical engineer will ideally be time served apprentice qualified in 16th/17th edition.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer Position Overview

• PPM and reactive breakdowns on equipment and machines including
• Working on a range of PLC control systems, automation controls, 4 and or 6 axis robotic machines, servo motors, sensors or thermocouples
• Updating maintenance records on PPM Schedules
• Carrying out route cause analysis to deter faults from reoccurring
• Assisting other members of the Maintenance team where possible

Electrical Maintenance Engineer Requirements

• Experience maintaining and servicing PLC control systems and automation controls within a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience repairing, maintaining and servicing of Production Machinery
• Ability to fault find
• Apprenticeship served & 16th / 17th Edition qualified desirable
• Based within a commutable distance of Portsmouth
• Formal qualifications within the Engineering industry
• Strong communications skills

Electrical Maintenance Engineer Remuneration

• Salary GBP32,000-GBP37,000 (+shift allowance)
• 28 Days Holiday, including Bank Holidays
• Pension
