What is special about this opportunity?

Pobl provides well maintained homes which people can live in at a rent which is affordable to them. Pobl cares about the things which are important in the lives of its tenants and want to make sure their communities are safe and attractive places to live.

There are two posts, one with Derwen and one with Charter.

Derwen provide dedicated housing to older persons and provide housing related support to residents who might need that additional help. We offer a variety of homes including Independent living and extra care across Newport, Monmouthshire and Caerphilly.

Charter managed over 5,000 homes across Newport, Caerphilly, Torfaen and Monmouthshire.

How can I make a difference?

The Charter role is based at Mariners Quay in the centre of Newport.

The Derwen Role is based at Bryngaer Place, a new development in the Gaer in Newport.

For both roles you'll be the first point of contact for customers on site and ensure customer satisfaction is achieved through excellent customer service. You will also be a point of contact for staff, contractors and the public. You will work effectively with colleagues in delivering a high quality service through excellent team working and good communication. You will have responsibilities for the basic maintenance including cleaning of both internal and external areas, window cleaning, other handyman tasks as required and also the security of the building and outside areas. To work in a flexible manner and to be willing to undertake other duties as reasonably requested. You'll be aware and responsible for Health & Safety within the team and with others on site and be able to work with COSHH and risk assessments.

Who are we looking for? (for more detail see Role Profile):

You will be friendly and have great communication skills as well as good handyman skills. Experience of the Caretaker role would be desirable. A full clean driving licence is essential.

How will you be rewarded?

At Pobl we look to reward our talent with a comprehensive package. Alongside a competitive salary, you will have 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), excellent pension options, and retail discounts to name a few. Not only will you be part of a highly successful business, you will also contribute to the success of the whole Pobl Group, which is moving from strength to strength.
