Housingrecruit.com is advertising for a Project Assistant on behalf of our client, a leading social housing provider based in South East London.

They are looking to recruit a part-time Project Assistant at Hilltops House in London (se24) working 30 hours per week.

Hilltops House in Southwark provides accommodation and support to people who are homeless or at serious risk of homelessness over the age of 50, including those with challenging needs.

They offer safe and homely accommodation in a quiet suburb supporting those with issues around mental health or substance misuse, as well as age-related illnesses such as Dementia.

As a Project Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing administration support to the teams, as well as supporting customers to make their own life choices and to access the services they need.

You will provide a first-class administration service, maintaining accurate records and acting as a first point of contact for customers by telephone or in person.  You will engage with them to offer housing related support, responding to and escalating queries as necessary, including working with tenancy agreements and collecting rents and charges.

You will be responsible for cleaning and preparing void rooms ready for new customers. The role can be challenging at times, and you may be required to deal with challenging personalities and chaotic situations; calling the emergency services for example.

What do you need

Ideally, you’ll already have experience of working with vulnerable clients in a housing/social care setting. If not, you will be given on the job training but will certainly have the initiative, empathy, interpersonal skills, resilience and sensitivity to appreciate how everyday housing issues impact on quality of life.

Commitment to providing the quality service that our clients need is also essential.  You will have excellent communication, IT and customer service skills and the organisational skills required to deal with a range of administrative issues.

In return, you will receive 25 days holiday and access to the pension scheme. They also invest in their employees and want you to develop within the organisation and offer training and development opportunities.

Benefits include:

  • Tax-free bikes
  • Car loan for scheme
  • Eye tests, glasses and lenses
  • Life assurance
  • Home contents insurance
  • Childcare vouchers
  • Reward gateway – fantastic high street and online savings

If you’re thinking of joining the organisation, our client would love to hear from you. They encourage applicants from all sections of the community so that they can truly reflect the neighbourhoods in which they work.

Closing Date: 30th May 2018
