Our client is the main provider of further and higher education in Wiltshire and is fast on its way to becoming outstanding having achieved a good Ofsted grade in June 2015.

They are currently seeking a Head of Financial Reporting to Lead the preparation of the College’s financial reporting, including management accounts, forecasts and annual financial statements. You will play a key role in preparing the annual budget and medium-term financial plans, develop and review systems within the Finance Team to improve effectiveness, efficiency and value for money and contribute to quality improvement within the Finance team by providing advice and support to two management accountants.

Additionally, you will carry out staff appraisals and set individual and team targets, operating to auditable standards, keep up to date with changes in accounting policies and ensure that Finance systems are updated to ensure full and timely compliance and manage the Payroll Team and their interaction with the HR Team on all payroll and pension matters.

Their ideal candidate will be Fully or a Part qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA/CIMA). You will have previous experience liaising with internal and external auditors, HMRC, bankers and professional advisors. You must have excellent financial management skills and the ability to present complex data clearly and concisely to non-financial managers. Ideally, you will have previous experience in the education sector, however, this is not essential.
