A large Public Sector client is looking for a full time Court Usher to join their team in Carlisle. This is a temporary assignment, initially until September, with chance of possible extension.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
Prepare court rooms, attend to the Judiciary & help maintain order in court
Help & support witnesses attending Court giving evidence, making sure that the proper measures are put in place to facilitate e. video link
Monitor attendance of parties keeping the court clerk informed
Ensure a Jury Panel is ready for Court
At Carlisle, Ushers also carry out the role of Jury Bailiff - they welcome new jurors, show a video of the proceedings and deal with any queries, data input onto the computer to record the attendance of jurors, extract data & produce panel & jury lists.
Expense claims are then coordinated for processing.
Other duties are Post, filing, photocopying, stationery & Library duties
The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS clearance.
Monday - Friday 37 hours per week.
£7 per hour, rising to £7 after 12 weeks completion in the assignment.
