We are looking for an experienced Commercial Director to step up to Partner Level in a private consultancy practice.
Our client is an established team of highly qualified chartered quantity surveyors and commercial consultants. They provide a range of contentious services to local, national and international clients including -
- Contract reviews
- Claims preparation
- Claims defence
- Strategic dispute advice
- Contractor support
- General QSing, Strategy
- Systems development
- Project management
- Business management
They are now looking to grow the business and are looking for somebody with strong Commercial Management experience to join the team with a view of becoming a Partner of the business leading the way in commercial and strategic growth.
With this opportunity comes a very competitive salary to include a company car, pension and further benefits. There will also be share options.
We are looking for somebody whom has the following attributes -
- MRICS
- Quantity surveying skills - being able to measure and assess pricing of work
- Ability to read and tell a story from documents and correspondence written by others
- Ability to develop a contractual argument i.e. read a contract and understand what is required
- Explain how compliance has or has not been achieved
- Reading a bespoke or heavily amended contract and establishing what clauses are onerous
- Listening to clients problems and developing a strategy to deal / minimise / resolve them
- Assist in claim preparation - using spreadsheets to assess large volumes of data
- Assist in preparation of adjudication referrals (legal style statements of claim)
- Ability to read a claim and identification of angles where noncompliance with contract rules may be opportunities to defend the claim
- Ability to go into a contractors and assist with general and strategic QSing
