Shift Manager GBP36k - GBP38k Full Time, permanent position 4 on 4 off shift pattern
Your new role
As Shift Manager you will plan, coordinate, control and develop the operators, machines and processes on shift, whilst ensuring efficiency targets are met. The Shift Manager will also be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of all employees.
Key Responsibilities:
* Promote and develop an ethical, safe working / change ready culture.
* Develop best practice in housekeeping (5S) with an audit ready mind-set.
* Work with the Production Manager to implement and enforce the company's policies (safety, quality, discipline, security) whilst actively working towards agreed objectives.
* To proactively organise and control all areas of production and associated activities, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, on time, within budget and to the required quality and hygiene standards.
* Assist and monitor annual production budgets.
* Ensure material, labour and expenses are minimised and controlled using agreed budget as a guideline, whilst actively working on improvement projects.
* Remain responsive to the ever-changing production plan
* Promoting Health & Safety working
* Promoting to achieve "OTIF" philosophy, proactively collaborating with the planning team to exceed all expectations.
* Work towards set KPI's, report, monitor and improve where possible.
* Ensure discipline and control is maintained within the team.
* Overall responsibility for the quality of products produced during the shift, ensuring they are good quality and fit for purpose.
* Attend and deliver shift handovers between shifts, ensuring detailed information on key areas, such as H&S, efficiency, and KPI's.
* Deliver world class standards of site and machine housekeeping, using 5S and Lean Principles.
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience of working in a fast moving, quality driven manufacturing environment
* Experience in a production role.
* Possess a high-level of problem solving and improvement activity.
* Experienced people manager - coaching, mentoring and people / personal development.
* Excellent communication skills
* Organisational and leadership skills with the ability to provide creative problem solving whilst operating under fast paced manufacturing conditions.
* Experienced with delivering Continuous Improvements, 5S, Lean Manufacturing Techniques
What you'll get in return
