We are currently recruiting for an Emergency Home Responder within the East Lancs area to support our 24 hours a day service to our Progress Lifeline customers.  Progress Lifeline is a 24-hour response service enabling elderly, disabled and vulnerable people to live independently within the community.

You will be based at home but on receipt of a call you would proceed to the relevant address. Due to timed attendance targets, applicants must reside in the geographical area of East Lancs covering Burnley, Padiham, Colne, Accrington, Nelson, Rawtenstall ect. A DBS check will also be conducted upon successful appointment to the role.

As a Mobile Responder, you will provide round the clock support and assistance to Lifeline customers within their own homes, duties will include:

1.       Visiting vulnerable and elderly people

2.       Responding to alarm activations/emergency calls

3.       Providing immediate support to customers following an activation of the Lifeline alarm

4.       Evaluating and assessing situations, and contacting emergency services as required

5.       Providing a lifting service to customers who have fallen and have been assessed as uninjured

6.       Maintaining people's dignity in emergency situations

You must be reliable and hardworking with the ability to stay calm under pressure and deal with emergency situations.  You must have excellent communication skills as well as the ability to assess needs and act appropriately in varying circumstances.

All required training will be given prior to shifts commencing. This position is not expected to act in place of medical or emergency services.  Access to a car is essential for work purposes throughout your shift for which a mileage allowance is payable.

You will be required to work 1 week in 4 on a rota basis working on call between the hours of 6pm - 6am (12 hours).  This is a temporary position on a fixed term contract basis until April 2019.

Rate of pay: GBP 21.02 per standby shift, GBP 13.07 call out rate and GBP 9.58 per hour during training. Mileage allowance payable for business mileage at 45p per mile.
