Olympus Engineering Background:

Olympus Engineering is a growing, £16m turnover CNC machining business operating from a purpose built new facility in Stoke on Trent. The company supplies large OEMs in the automotive, construction equipment, hydraulic and wider engineering markets with precision machined, coated and engineered metal components.

Olympus is building on its sound foundations and actively working on cultural change that embraces both the communication to, and involvement/engagement of, its highly skilled, long service workforce on key business improvement activities. The company has a plan to increase turnover by 50% over the next three to four years. The business is very busy, having won large new contracts, has increased numbers employed to 160 and is investing in both new machinery and the training of all staff.

This interesting role will become a vital part of the leadership team in the Hydraulics business unit and be a key member of the commercial group operating across the business.

Good customer service and effective account development is fundamental to Olympus’s growth plans. Working with the company’s largest and fastest growing customer this wide ranging position encompasses all aspects of customer service and account management. This will including attending senior level meetings, long term relationship development, building planning and loading schedules, ensuring delivery on customer due date promises, completing quotations and some order entry etc. work. An important aspect of the role is to establish more structure, planning and rhythm with a customer and, in a business, that has experienced sustained growth with all the benefits and challenges that this brings.
