Accounts Payable Assistant - Maternity Cover
Reports To: Accounts Payable Supervisor
Location: Coventry (CV5 9AB)

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

  • To ensure all invoices are processed on an accurate and timely basis
  • To provide full support to the Accounts Payable section

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To input supplier details on relevant systems and maintain accurate records.
  • To enter invoices and match to purchase orders onto the system.
  • To assist in performance of weekly payment runs of BACS and payable orders.
  • To assist in preparation of reports when required.
  • To complete routine returns and monthly reconciliations.
  • To deal with enquires from external suppliers and other internal departments.
  • To ensure highest standards of customer care and quality of work.
  • To undertake such other duties as reasonably requested of a similar responsibility level that may be allocated to the post.

  • Prompt and accurate processing of invoices and payments

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Experienced in raising processing invoices and payments
  • Strong and professional telephone and email technique for resolution of invoice queries
  • Confident at liaising with internal operations managers regarding invoicing queries
  • Methodical and analytical approach to the reconciliation of accounts
  • Good working knowledge of Word and Excel, in particular VLOOKUP and Pivot tables
  • Experience working in a high volume environment
