Great Baddow - Chelmsford

The Great Baddow Community Association at the Millennium Centre, Great Baddow Recreation Ground, Chelmsford CM2 9RL opened in 1985 and provides space for a wide range of local community based, not for profit and other groups.

It has rooms available for weddings, parties, wakes and other external events. The Millennium Centre is open seven days per week and has a restaurant (open Monday to Friday lunch times only), and two licensed bars, one for Members and the other serving our Millennium suite function hall. The Association runs regular events to attract local residents and users and has a vibrant sporting community using the Millennium Centre as headquarters. 

We currently have an opening for a full-time Community Centre Manager who will report to and be responsible to the Community Associations Executive Committee who have the overriding task of managing the Association in close collaboration with the Great Baddow Parish Council.

Requirements:

We are looking for an effective and committed person to lead the Centre who will promote the Association as an important part of local and wider community life and a focus for social activity, community development, information and support

The role requires a 48 hour working week including evening and weekend working with the assistance of two Deputy Managers. Experience within a friendly Members Club environment is desirable.

Duties:

The Centre Manager must be prepared for “hands on” bar management and be capable of controlling and organising staff team rotas, cellar work, stock control and hall hire operations as well as liaising with suppliers and ensuring compliance with Health and Safety law.. 

The successful candidate will be an experienced manager with excellent organisational and communication skills.

The Millennium Centre is owned by the Great Baddow Parish Council and is managed by the Association for the benefit of the local people of Great Baddow and its environs. It is a place where people of all ages can come together safely to enjoy fun, recreation and education, the heart and focus of our community.
