Night shift
Pro-Force are seeking for production supervisor to work for a busy client based in Soutfhleet, Kent.
Purpose
To ensure that processing, assembly and packing areas are managed in accordance with company H&S and technical policies
Key Responsibilities
• Training and supporting area Team Leaders
• Ensure safe use of our facilities and equipment, while also ensuring safe environment
• Ensure the safety, legality and quality of our products, while ensuring CCP's are adhered to
• Management of production staff across the factory
• Attend weekly meetings with Shift Manager to analyse previous week, identify areas of concern and report preventive measures
• Ensure efficient labour usage to meet business targets, pro-actively manages labour and identifies skills shortage
• Liaise daily with Shift Manager on production targets
• Be the first point of contact in designated area of responsibility
• Ensures T&A system recorded hours is updated daily and registered hours matches attendance
• Understand and challenge area efficiencies, waste, H&S and compliance
• Attend taste panels and encourage reporting team to follow
• Set example and enforce company policies and procedures
• Ensure GMP standards and "clean as you go" policies are maintained throughout production areas
• Deputises on Shift Manager absence
Performance Indicators
• H&S (Daily accidents, near misses)
• Food safety ( Non-conformances, Customer Complaints )
• Staff training ( 10% of total hours worked weekly )
• Cost ( waste, line efficiency, punnets cost, PPMH, OT, downtime )
Key Skill and Experience Requirements
• Training and staff assessment
• First Aid Certificate ( advantageous )
• Continuous improvement mind set, daily search for ways to improve factory performance
• Good communication skills ( talking and listening )
• Good delegation and inspection, able to instruct and follow up on requests from Senior Management
• Team work, able to work and liaise with others to ensure team goals are successfully achieved
• Continuous Improvement mind set, focused on daily search for areas to improve (efficiencies, cost reduction)
• Delegation
• Good Emotional control ( EI )
• Good numerical and literacy levels
Other Role Requirements
• The role involves some manual handling and the ability to withstand working in cold storage conditions on a daily basis
• The role requires an alert disposition, working in the vicinity of PPT and moving machinery
• Travel to other Company or off-site meeting locations may be required from time to time
