Boston College has an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Engineering to join the team based in Boston, Lincolnshire. Joining on a full time permanent basis, you will receive a highly competitive salary and excellent benefits!

It is an exciting time to join our growing engineering department at Boston College.  With over £4 million of planned investment in state of the art engineering facilities, we are looking for a qualified engineer to drive forward a contemporary engineering course offer.

The Lecturer in Engineering Role

As part of an evolving Engineering team, the main focus of your role will be to share your knowledge of technologies and techniques used in industry to support and mentor our learners for their future employment. 

Specifically, you will share your knowledge of teaching Level 2 & Level 3 in Engineering, blending the practical skills you have acquired. The ideal candidate will have a relevant Level 3 or above qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Material, Manufacturing, Design, Electrical and Electronics) with proven industrial experience. Experience with CAD/CAM and history working with CNC is preferable. A candidate with a degree would also assist the department in our planned growth of Higher Education provision.

Skill & Experience required of our Lecturer in Engineering

- Relevant Level 3 or above qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Material, Manufacturing, Design, Electrical and Electronics)

- Level 2 Qualification in Literacy and Numeracy

- Relevant and recent industrial experience

- Up to date broad based knowledge of subject area.

- An understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to creating a safe learning environment and demonstrate your suitability to working with children, young people and vulnerable adults.
