Cambridge University Press is seeking a new Managing Director to take on the exciting challenge of leading its fast-growing, global English Language Teaching (ELT) division.

The ELT division is a global business stream, with an annual turnover of around GBP150m. Cambridge ELT publishes a broad range of innovative English language learning materials, with an increasing volume of its products delivered digitally to a global customer base. The business stream has set a goal of continued growth of around 10 per cent year on year. It works in close partnership with Cambridge Assessment English, an allied department of the University of Cambridge.

The new Managing Director will provide strategic leadership to the ELT division in the context of a fast-changing industry, seeking to drive growth in the business and to facilitate the cultural and business transition towards an increasingly digital model of working. They will continue to build and inspire an outstanding team and consolidate the ELT division as an excellent partner with other areas of Cambridge University Press and the University of Cambridge.

Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of commercial leadership in a business with strong multinational and digital components. They will be passionate about education, and about the opportunities offered by digital transformation in publishing. They will be superb team builders, with a focus on delivering growth, and have the interpersonal and persuasion skills to develop effective relationships with key partners.
